We had the good fortune of connecting with Bri Schillings and we’ve shared our conversation below. Hi Bri, why did you pursue a creative career? I would say that it was the creative career that chose me. I am honored and devoted for a lifetime. It connected me to myself, the love of my life and has brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. It has also brought me the greatest challenges but I am a sucker for a good challenge and with the best partner by my side, anything is possible.

Bri Schillings was once in a dark place, deep within the realms of a life-threatening eating disorder and nothing to look forward to.
It was the music that pulled her back in to a positive outlook and to this day, the San Diego-based singer-songwriter can safely declare it basically saved her and taught her how to love again. Greatly inspired, her and a collective of Southern California’s most talented writers and musicians under the moniker “Sweet Imperfections” have released an aptly titled debut album called ‘ME Is Better With WE,’ which features the single “Deeper To The Core. ”The Music Bugle had the opportunity to talk with Schillings about the album and more.

Sweet Imperfections has today released their new video for the track titled ‘Deeper to the Core’. An absolutely gorgeous piano riff kicks off what I consider a subtle punch to the feels with a stellar song that I personally needed to hear today. Personal things aside, ‘Deeper to the Core’ is a song that anyone can relate to and will become a companion for those times when you really need one. Having said that, I really need to thank Bri and Co. for that needed introspection and call for reflection with a song that soothes the soul and seals a hurting heart. The song builds like a slow burn and a crescendo building to a hopeful conclusion.
Q & A – Bri Schillings Of Sweet Imperfections
There are times when life feels like a struggle and hasn’t that been the case for these last twelve months? Politically and socially speaking, it feels like someone has taken a knife and divided our world into two warring segments, in deep conflict over virtually every issue and belief you could possibly think of. Singer-songwriter Bri Schillings and her band Sweet Imperfections have recognized this fundamental clash of attitudes in their latest single “Gently Not Judgingly,” an epically emotional ballad that can’t help but move you.
BRI SCHILLINGS INTERVIEW
Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Schillings.
Hi Bri, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Music is my first language, It connects and conveys the feelings I cannot express through words alone… it has been my greatest form of communication. As a child, I was drawn to music early on, feeling the connectivity and energy between the frequency of nature through sound vibrations.
SWEET IMPERFECTION VIDEO PREMIER BY JAMERZINE.COM BY RYAN MARTIN
Sweet Imperfections has today released their new video for the track titled ‘Gently Not Judgingly’. Written from the perception of a person in the state of rare reflectiveness, ‘Gently Not Judgingly’ gives a much needed perspective on the current state of affairs. The lyrics state the painfully obvious in that we need to listen not loathe and relate not berate.
The video is a lovingly crafted masterpiece that may end up as a timestamp for the last few years. Everyone has a voice, yes, but everyone also has a responsibility. The voice is but a tool for that responsibility. Do we use it to right wrongs? Right the wrongs in us? Or simply write more wrongs. This is a song and video that touched me personally. Thank you, Bri.

In the heartfelt track, Schillings seeks to inspire people to understand and sympathize with our differences instead of weaponizing them to hurt others. Lush and dramatic violins and piano set the backdrop for Schillings’ earnest yet powerful vocals calling out for unity and compassion.
