Written during the artist’s road trip in 2021, it stems from her experience witnessing the lingering smoke from the California wildfires — though the powerful passion in her voice can be traced back much further. Schillings has had a strong connection with nature since a child, finding solace in its protection and inspiration in its sounds. As she’s grown her voice and evolved her sound, her love for our magical landscape has only heightened.
